VISION — To educate parents and professionals in ABA’s developmental movement principles and framework that nurture a healthy, happy, and self-motivated baby.
MISSION — To provide our Amazing Babies Academy Programs online to parents and professionals worldwide.
The Amazing Babies Academy educational programs and resources are developed by founder/director Beverly Stokes, Developmental Movement Educator. She is acknowledged as a leader in the field of baby movement development, nonverbal communication, and self-motivated learning.
Beverly’s baby movement research documenting mothers and babies in their home environment began thirty years ago. This led to her initial longitudinal study with a parenting group in Canada and published in her Amazing Babies Moving book and video. She continues her baby movement research with parents and babies in natural environments in California. This research is published in her second book Your Self-Motivated Baby. (See Books & Videos)
Based on her extensive Developmental Movement and Movement Pattern Analysis expertise, Beverly has developed a unique, integrated movement framework for understanding a baby’s developing social and exploratory motivation. This embodied developmental movement framework is based on three core self-motivated themes: the baby’s developing body awareness, the baby’s expressive social interactions, and the baby’s haptic problem-solving explorations.
Beverly’s baby video and photo vignettes form the fundamental research foundation of our online programs. In these exciting programs, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Baby Movement Essentials: Embodied, Expressive, and Exploratory. These vignettes show how babies develop embodied movement, expressive communication, and exploratory learning in the first year.
We are committed to promoting early movement development and have an extensive library of baby videos and photo vignettes that we use in our research and course programs. This information is a valuable resource to expand the field of baby movement development.
Beverly’s educational materials are used worldwide in University graduate and undergraduate programs and in a variety of professional disciplines: early childhood education, parenting, optometry, somatic education, massage therapy, sports training, and infant intervention programs.
We invite you to participate in the Academy’s interactive courses and learn more about Beverly’s integrated approach to the baby’s physical, social, and cognitive development through movement in the first year.
On completion of the Pre-Locomotion and Locomotion Programs you are eligible to apply for the ABA Baby Developmental Movement Educator designation from the Amazing Babies Academy Certificate Program.
